Ensuring innovation

Championing progress and growth – with deep roots in the cold rolling industry, we support applied research projects focused on cold rolling and related applications for cold rolled steel strip. To this end, we support promising talents and innovators through scholarships, grants, and awards with prize money. Furthermore we actively promote talent acquisition and development through targeted initiatives.

The sudden death of a Waelzholz employee placed an enormous burden on his family. Alongside their deep grief came unexpected financial hardship that threatened to derail his son’s vocational training. The foundation stepped in and made it possible for him to successfully complete the program.”

SIHK Award for Excellence

Together with the South Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SIHK), each year the Dr.-Ing. Hans-Toni Junius Foundation provides an award to the best graduates of vocational training programs in the following fields:

  • Electronics technician for industrial engineering
  • Industrial mechanic, Process technologist for coating technology
  • Materials tester
  • IT specialist for application technology
  • Process technologists

Future of Cold Rolling Award

In partnership with the Fachvereinigung Kaltwalzwerke e. V. (the industry association of the German cold rolling industry), we awarded the Future of Cold Rolling Award for the first time in 2025, which recognizes outstanding innovations in materials and process development.
